MCP Project 52 | Hartwell, GA Lifestyle Photographer

If you follow our Facebook page, no doubt you've noticed our 365 project.  While it's not a new concept, it's exploded in popularity this year.  From real-life friends to photographers we dearly respect around the country, it's the new hip thing in photography.

Taking a photo 365 days a year, however, is a more serious task that it initially appears to be.  It's committing to taking a good photo, downloading it from the camera, editing it and posting it in the venue of choice - in our case, on our Facebook page and on our 365 Blog.  In lieu of the 365 project, many people are opting for a "52" instead - a photo a week for one year.  How many of you take photos of your kiddos each week?  Could you commit to downloading your camera each week and uploading one photo online to share?

If so, I both invite and challenge you to join the Multiple Choices Photography 52 Project.  Kindly hosted and administrated by Jodi of MCP Actions, this 52 week photo project is designed to get people photographing and thinking critically about photography.  I'm tickled to announce I have been asked to help lead/moderate this project.  It's an honor to have been chosen and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to do it.  I'll be blogging on the MCP 52 Page from time to time, and will be actively moderating the photo pool on Flickr.  I'm joined in this task by Jen, Haleigh, Rebecca, Justin and Lisa.  Feel free to throw them a little love if you like their photography.

Interested in joining?  Here's what to do.  If you don't already have a Flickr account, sign up for one, then join MCP Project 52.  Add a photo that fits the week's suggested theme and see what others have come up with!  Keept it up, and by the end of the year you should have a neat little body of work.  I hope you'll consider making the committment to this project and I look forward to seeing your photos!

This week's theme is "Around the House".  Saturday begins week two - the theme will be "Illustrate a Song".  I'll be guest blogging that week's best work, so get going!
