While we were in New England there was a killer heat wave; for many up there it was unfathomable - but for us Georgians it was typical summer weather. Since we've returned the scorchers have kept up, so the kids have found a pretty awesome way to cool off. Remember those days? With sprinklers and hoses and lemonade, when it was never really too hot to play outside? Yeah. That's how to pass a summer afternoon.

The Del Llano Family
I met Jess on the tire swings at Harrington Elementary School. She had a ponytail all the way down her back, mischievous eyes and a rock star personality. That was in 198.....6? These days her hair is shorter, I know how mischievous she can be (oh, the stories I could tell) and she is a major Boston radio personality - she's quite fabulous! Brian is clearly the cheese to her macaroni and Miss Sara, well, she's just like her mother, right down to those gorgeous, twinkling eyes.

The Ruyffelaert Family!
One of the wonderful things about going "home" on vacation is the opportunity to reconnect with people ... Tracy asked that we meet up to photography Miss Fiona (8 months of adorable), as well as her and Shawn. We had this date planned for months. Tracy picked out Great Brook Farm in Carlisle, MA (our old stomping grounds) for the session. We were eager, we were ready -
And it rained.
Fortunately, Shawn, Tracy and Fiona are amazingly flexible people who happen to love the outdoors - they were calm and cool and rolled right along with it.

Sunrises
Dave has been aching to get back to his roots - landscape photography - and did so this week by making sunrise pictures around Hart County. We've been blessed with some gorgeous sunrises lately... these are a few!
I find the following three pics very interesting, especially together. They're shot from the top of the dam just a little while apart. The change in the landscape is amazing, huh?

Pre-Fourth!
With our odd schedules it can be hard to make it to holiday events as a family. Luckily for us, we were all able to hit up the Hartwell Pre-Fourth fireworks show last night - together! We actually didn't head out planning to make any pictures - the camera was not something we packed up - but about a half-mile from the house we had to come back for it "just in case" there was a super photo to be made of the sunset over the lake. Yeah... these are a few. :)
Oh, and the silly phone pic of this ridiculous family sprawled out enjoying the evening:
